quirky decor, cosy atmosphere, historical charm

The soundproofing between rooms could really use improvement!!! The bizarre taxidermy and odd photos weren’t exactly comforting, especially when the corridor lights only activate as you walk towards them. Safety first, please!!!

    helpful staff
    deep snow trek
    shared bathrooms

The staff was wonderful and always ready to help.

Staying at Mary-Ann's Polarrigg was frustrating due to the need to trek through deep snow just to access my room. It felt unreasonable to have to dress up for the freezing conditions every time I wanted to use the bathroom, especially after paying a premium for my stay. Additionally, some rooms have shared bathrooms, which became a hassle during cold nights when I wanted to go back to my room quickly.

    impressive breakfast
    cozy lounge
    corridor noise

I had a cozy stay at Mary-Ann's Polarrigg! The breakfast selection was impressive, and I loved the lounge's vibe after long days exploring. Just a heads up, the noise from the corridors was a bit much at times. Overall, a great budget choice!

    homely atmosphere
    limited breakfast variety

The warm and homely atmosphere at Mary-Ann's Polarrigg is truly

inviting. The rich decor evokes a historical charm, creating an experience rather than just a stay. The breakfast, served in the lovely winter garden, was remarkable, although options could vary a bit more. The communal spaces are great for socializing with other guests.

    soundproofing issues
    noise from corridors

I enjoyed my stay in a cozy atmosphere filled with quirky decor and a historical charm. The breakfast was impressive, featuring real scrambled eggs and bacon, and the staff contributed to a welcoming vibe. However, I found the shared bathroom situation a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the soundproofing could be improved, as I heard conversations from neighboring rooms.

The dining experience in the Vinterhagen restaurant is a standout, featuring delicious local cuisine in a unique greenhouse setting. With round-the-clock access to coffee and tea, and a great breakfast that rivals five-star hotels, this place truly embodies the spirit of Longyearbyen.

    limited bathroom access

I stayed in a Double Room with Private Bathroom for 4 nights. The beds were surprisingly comfy, and I loved having ample access to the bathroom. The lounge area was a cozy spot to unwind, and I appreciated the kitchen facilities for making tea. The veranda was a little suntrap too! Just keep in mind there's no room cleaning service during your stay. Overall, it was a good value for money, and I had a great time!

    charming atmosphere

    Target audience adventure seekers

I fell in love with the charm of this place, it's like stepping into a museum with history everywhere. The staff welcomed me like family, and dining at the restaurant was a treat,, especially the steak, cooked perfectly and just what I needed after long days out.

It wasn't exactly budget-friendly, but you pay for the experience.
